You are not the first person to rant about the cost of leaving your car in the Mount Elizabeth Hospital carpark, if you can find a parking lot in the first place ! If you are a visitor or a care-giver who needs to spend a lot of time at the hospital with a patient, here are some alternatives worth considering. Generally parking along the Orchard Road stretch will be more expensive. You can leave your car at one of the many shopping malls nearby. Paragon is right across a small road from Mount Elizabeth Hospital. Lucky Plaza is another possibility. Then there is Ngee Ann City on the other side of Orchard Road and a multi-level car park at Bideford Road. Parking at some hotels may not be economical if you are not a hotel guest.
A little farther out, you can consider parking at Wheelock Place. It has a basement carpark as well as a public parking area just behind Far East Shopping Centre. Along Scotts Road, there is the Ministry of Environment Building which charges around only 1 dollar an hour. The Enviornment building is right next to the Newton MRT station, a taxi stand and a bus stop so getting into Orchard Road is easy.
